Sand Dunes & Shadows acrylic on paper19x28cm ©2012 Lisa Le Quelenec |
Sometimes it's interesting to take a composition that you painted in one medium and do another version in a different one. Sand Dunes and Shadows was painted in acrylic in May last year. The second painting was painted recently when I was demonstrating at the Living Crafts event at the Priory in Christchurch. I like the warmth of the colours in the watercolour. The acrylic has more of a cooler evening atmosphere. I wonder what this composition would transform into if I used printmaking techniques.....
Good morning Lisa!... A wonderful combination of composition juxtoposed successfully with colour and light!
ReplyDeleteIt works wonderfully!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Very interesting to see how a subject can take on a certain look depending on the medium. I love both of these. Thank you for such an informative post.
ReplyDeleteMakes an interesting comparison between the medium, a really nice composition makes them both lovely paintings
ReplyDeleteNice to see the scene in two different mediums. They are both beautiful, I love the composition and the interesting shadows!
ReplyDeleteHi Bruce, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHello Lorraine, thank you very much. I enjoyed playing with all the linear elements.
Hi Judy, we are having some really nice hot and sunny weather at the moment and shadows keep catching my eye. It could be a new theme to explore...
