Following on from Ebb and Flow I and II a couple more compositions using monoprint this time. I like the different kind of marks with direct monoprint and the feathery line quality because I did those sections on a textured watercolour paper it is more pronounced than it would have been on a smoother surface giving a softer feel that contrasts with the harder lines of the pebble shapes.
I will start to add these to the Etsy shop over the next few days and make some from the series available as prints and cards on RedBubble.
The pebble project is progressing well and there is much work in progress. However waiting for layers of ink to dry is getting a little frustrating. It means that posts may end up being a bit like buses with lots to share in one go with big gaps in between :o)
Yes, letting things dry is frustrating - like watching grass grow, but it is well worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteYour artwork could not look better, Lisa. Your pieces are just beautiful!
I understand Lisa about having to be patient while things dry. I certainly like the soft fuzzy lines that do contrast so well with the collaged pebbles. Beautiful and interesting work. Hope you have a gorgeous weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always worth waiting for - and if it rains, I’ll just put up my umbrella :). LOVE these. Each time I fall in love with what you are doing and each time you delight my eyes all over again. I cannot choose favorites, though, as all your work inspires me and makes me happy. I’ll be waiting here, sunshine or rain, for the next post :). You know they say artists are the only people who don’t mind watching paint dry :)
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, thank you. The trouble is that I then pick something else up and start fiddling which leads to something else and then something else...and end up with lots of bits needing completing. Hey ho it keeps things interesting I suppose ;o) The grass is growing quickly here and will need a good cut this weekend. Hope your veggies are doing well and you are getting to enjoy the garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. We have glorious weather forecast this weekend and it is a bank holiday here so a three day one. I am very much looking forward to working in the garden. I'm not sure if you have a holiday Monday in the US but I wish you a jolly weekend filled with sunshine.
Thank you so much Rhonda! You would have needed a big umbrella here yesterday. I was soaked to the skin despite my waterproofs. Today is warm and very sunny so it seems Spring is properly here at last. Things are drying at a faster rate and the sun has me feeling raring to go. Funny how much sunshine makes a difference isn't it - that and the wonderful support and comments from the generous friends that I have made here. Best wishes for a fabulous weekend.
