Miss Lu - sometime studio assistant, field trip organiser and snack snaffler.

Hi, a quick post today as I'm trying to finish some jobs off before school holidays start - last day of school tomorrow and I'm not sure I'm going to make it....eeek!

I really like blogging it is something that I really missed this last crazy year when days were short and time was long and I love visiting other peoples blogs too. Blogger is special to me for the sense of community and friendships that I have made. I like that it takes a bit of effort to post something. I love that complete strangers and bloggin' buddies take the time out of their busy day to engage, comment and make contact. I have always found it a wonderful and supportive place. My intention is to continue with my once a week ramblings that hopefully are of interest to some people.

I have been meaning to start an Instagram feed for an embarassingly long time and just kept putting it off and putting it off - not sure why really. Anyway a couple of weeks or so ago I started an account so if your thing is more images and far less waffley wordery then you can now find me  there  now too. Lu will no doubt stick her paw in every now and again as well. I'm quite liking the format in a different way to blogger and partly it feels like an instant exhibition.

So far I have found a few blogging buddies who don't seem to post much here any more so if you are on there pop over and say hi so I can find you.

Wishing you a wonderfully creative week.

  1. Haven’t done Instagram yet and took forever before I was talked into Facebook - but find between FB and my blog (which I’ve had sooo long and thought many times of closing but just haven’t), I get the words and the images I need to fill my soul with good art. Your art is definitely some that brings me joy - whether you talk a lot about it or not - so maybe in another month or two or three, Instagram? ha ha. I am behind in those things and think of all the time I could be painting or drawing but I do need an outlet of some kind to show my work or I would just become a couch potato watching old movies or reading mysteries!

  2. Thank you Rhonda so much for your kindness. Your support over the years has brought me much joy, more than you will ever know.

I can't get the hang of Facebook so just have a landing page there that someone set up for me. Instagram I am finding 'fairly' easy and quite like blogger in a lot of ways. Both blogger and instagram take a lot of time, I don't know how people manage to do more than a couple of platforms but it seems some people add twitter, tiktock and I don't know what else to the mix. I would never find time to do any painting I think two is enough for me.

Have a wonderfully creative and happy week.

  3. Blogging has been a great source of growth and community. I have sometimes fallen out of the habit ... but I am finding renewed enjoyment in it, though it does seem a lot of people have migrated to Instagram, which is great but not the same!

  4. I agree Laura. I'm so grateful that people seem to be reading it. Instagram feel so much shorter and immediate where blogger is maybe more thoughtful and considered, like Instagram is a quick text and blogger more of a phonecall - I think that could just be me though. Best wishes.
