The Mist Rolled In watercolour 12x18cm ©2018LisaLeQuelenec |
Subtle tones and barely there colour. A blanket of mist rolls in off the sea masking sight and sound.
(This one wasn't fun to try and photograph, the camera has bleached the colour a little too much.)

Beautiful, Lisa!
I have the same problem with color correcting artwork, too, but can't imaging this piece being much lovelier.
Still loving this series. It looks like the camera picked up the texture of the paper? Or did you really add those pale blues there in the foreground? Beautiful :)
Beautiful!
I had the same problem with photographing the dragonfly, maybe it's the soft blues that the camera's can't handle.
Lisa you have captured the tranquility of the mist and sea in this lovely series. I have been reading a book that has Cornwall as a part of its setting. These pieces help me picture the lovely foggy mist. Hope you are having a delightful day. Hugs!
Thank you Chris. Part of the problem is the few days of really grey more wintery weather we have been having I think. Yesterday I needed the lights on all day.
Hi Rhonda, the texture is part paper and part the granulating sodalite blue. The colours were then glazed over. I used cobalt blue deep and yellow ochre light in this one - just a hint - with it being so high key I felt it needed it.
Hi Judy, I think it's the light as we head into Winter. We have had some very wet, dark and grey days here. I guess you have probably had similar. The dragonfly is gorgeous - you have really captured the balance of strength and delicacy.
Hi Debbie, so pleased to hear that you are mending. I absolutely love Cornwall, I studied there for a while in Falmouth. The beaches are a real treat and remind me lots of Jersey where I grew up. It's strange when it hangs so low to the ground and you can't see people's feet, just their torsos seeming to hover above it then it lifts suddenly and they become whole again.
