Perfect weather for clouds....
Today the weather has been perfect for cloud sketching, very sunny with a brisk breeze so lots of changing cloud forms to sketch. I've spent most of the day sketching and when I wasn't I've been obsessively keeping my eye on the windows to capture the shapes and tones in my memory.

I love these cloud sketches, Lisa...interesting how different the clouds are over water than over the desert here...
Hi Tina, thank you for stopping by. I've never been to a desert but it's definately a place I'd like to visit. I hunger for big, wide open spaces and huge skies. From your paintings the desert looks like paradise.
it looks like paradise to me!
And the English coast is on my list...I have been in your country twice, did not make it to the coast...seeing your work and Tina M's has renewed my interest in large bodies of water...
that first one is lovely - ethereal and full of light
skies at the coast are brilliant to paint - and Tina the Cornish coast is a MUST if you come over here. I paint there whenever I can as the light and colour are something really special, even in 'bad' weather.
I keep telling Tina to get herself down there on her travels
Thank you Vivien, the last couple of days there have been some great cloud shows and the light has been perfect.
Tina, if/when you come to England, do head down to Cornwall, I agree there is something very special about the light there. I did a one year foundation course in art & design at Falmouth art college - it's a very inspirational place. My favourite spots were Crantock, Perranporth and St. Agnes. I'm sure Vivien would recommend a few more. I haven't been down there for a couple of years but must go back soon....
That's near where I lived as a child :>) north of Newquay.
I'd also suggest Penwith - Sennen Cove, St Ives and the tiny tiny fishing villages there, reached by incredibly narrow lanes. It's almost like an island as you can see both coasts from the moors so the light is really special.
