Peacock feather

After fighting yesterday with the Handfast Point painting I needed to do something completely different. A complete change of texture from cliffs to feathers seemed like an idea at the time. I picked these discarded feathers whilst out at Lulworth Castle last summer, sometimes it's nice to concentrate on tiny details.

Today I'll be back to the cliffs.....

aren't feathers gorgeous to draw/paint?

and as you say, a real change from the sea

Hi Vivien, I think there may be a few more to come. It's nice to draw small details of things and to concentrate on textures, patterns and colour. I seem to have a bigger collection of subjects to choose from than I first thought. Something about them means I have to pick them up when I see them.
