Sketches of Hengistbury Head

There just aren't enough hours in the day at the moment, exhibitions are fast approaching and I'm sure the packing, labelling, mounting, framing.... etc takes as long as making the work. I've only a sketch of Hengistbury Head from the cliff top as I took a break to blow the cobwebs away.

I have a an "expression of interest" from someone who has previously purchased my work and would like to have a painting of Hengistbury Head. It looks as though I will be spending some time there fairly soon preparing initial tonal and colour sketches. These of yours are nice. You are so lucky having it right on your doorstep

That's great news Roger. I really think we have the best location here, a great coastline, rivers, the New Forest and lots of beautiful countryside. I don't think we could ask for more.

I've been building up to a Hengistbury painting for a while myself but the river series has rather run away with me. It'll be interesting to see your take on it.
