Beautiful atmospheric painting Lisa. The whole theme of a moonlit night and the waves gently rolling in to the shore is just fabulous. So glad you got to fulfill your moon painting challenge :)

I posted a comment yesterday but lost it in the ether. I really like this very much, especially the way the light twinkles on the sea, the crests of the waves and the cloud edges. The rendering of the moon is convincing. What kind of paper did you use and was it primed?

Hi Roger, thank you. The paper was 200lb Arches hot press. Rather than gessoing it I used a base coat of buff titanium which stops the paper being so thirsty and gives a nice warm base for the glazes of blue. Have a great day.
