This is very well done and such a complete change from your usual colour vocabulary. The foreground is striking and makes a very positive statement. Also, the tones used in the middle distance are just right creating a boundary between apparent reality and the imaginary landscape beyond. The eyes are drawn to the faintly described line of fence posts and the suggestion of a mist shrouded distant horizon. The fields of Avalon spring to mind.

Hi Roger, thank you. I wondered if you would recognise it as it loosely based on our our sketching trip. I've been looking a lot at the semi abstract river reflections pair that I did and wanted to use the same palette in a softer way. I think it's a rebellion against all the blues I've been painting lately. Have a great day.

Hi Lisa. A lovely tranquil painting with lots of warmth throughout but a nice feeling of space from the expert use of cooler colours and tones. A very inviting piece indeed.

Lovely work Lisa. The depth you've achieved is masterful and the colours beautiful.

I keep looking at a water scene that I drive past every day and want to paint. This weekend I hope!

Lisa, I like your new blog layout. The header painting looks superb. You refer to an exhibition/works of art dale on 19th Aug but where?? Some info is missing.

Hi Michael, thank you. You are very kind.

Hello Jeanette, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you this weekend. Thank you for your generous comments.

Hi Roger, thank you about the header, it seems that it was covering up the 'where' part. Ooooops my fantastic computer skills strike again - ;o)
