Hi Rhonda, no fear you can come. The exhibition is here on the blog. It will be a new page...A virtual exhibition rather than a bricks and mortar show. A bit of an experiment..

What a great idea!

Very much look forward to your virtual exhibition. Ammonites are so mysterious/beautiful/mathematical. I've often wanted to paint them in watercolour, but have no 'live' examples to work from. Photos in books are lovely, but not necessarily great to work from.

:o) Thanks Chris. Funny thing is it feels just as busy in the countdown to a virtual exhibition as it does in a gallery.

Thank you Judy.

Hi Susan, in Dorset we have tourist type shops that sell small, less than perfect ones as well as the more serious fossil collector shops that have some exquisite specimens. A couple of UK based places sell them online both polished halves and the whole ones so you can see either exterior and interior for not too much. I am guessing they would post world wide. I find them fascinating and it has made an interesting project.

Thank you Lisa. I visited Lyme Regis many years ago and have kicked myself many times since for not doing a little beachcombing or buying an ammonite specimen. However, last weekend fate was on my side. While staying in Bath I came across a fantastic stall selling all manner of geological delights and treated myself to a very special Ammonite - 120 million years old fossilised into iron pyrites. Even though it cost £25 I hardly hesitated! It is a good size, very beautiful and so tactile. Good luck on Open Day I'll be there.

Hi Susan, lucky you having a trip to Bath, I really like it there. So glad that you have managed to get hold of an ammonite and pyritised too! I bet it looks magical. I am not sure if you blog or show your work online but please do let me have a link to see what you do. If not maybe you could email some photos? I really would love to see. Best wishes and I hope you enjoy the 'exhibition'.
